Looking Back
My
days as an AmeriCorps CTEP; I worked at Eastside Neighborhood Services
(ESNS) where I worked for the Employment Department located upstairs. We at ESNS had
a computer lab and some old yet functional computers. I usually worked
5 days a week and spent plenty of time looking at resources that could
be provided in the Lab.
At ESNS I also held senior computer classes
where Seniors learned how to use the WWW and web-cameras. I spent
lots of time working with staff and clients on emailing techniques,
finding new programs that could help people use computers for job
searches, medical information, government info, social security,
unemployment, learning new skills, and new ESL language skills. I was
constantly learning along side my student clients about community and
technology during my CTEP year. Maureen
